Last day for BSB

Went out Sunday for the last day of BSB to see if we could cooler a few. Got out to the 60 and there was only one other boat. We decided to slow drift to cover more ground same as the other guy. Fishing was slow but we managed a few (5) for the cooler. Day went sour when a boat with divers came in and dropped anchor right in the area where the 2 boats were making drifts. We both moved b/c he dropped right in the path of the drifts. We both moved to drift another area then the dive boat moved to where we were again. Thanks to the that guy or #%!@#** he made a rough day worse.

If you were not anchored, how is anyone supposed to know that you were drifting? Did you talk to them?

If you love a spot and want to fish it you need to anchor on it. You don’t own it. It’s the 60 not a ‘secret’ spot.

What kind of boat was it.

Understand what you are all saying. The guy played around enough to see what was going on. It’s not like we were drifting a mile or so and wanted the entire ocean. It was a hundred yards or so. The first time I’m was sort of OK with but the second time was dumb. Also understand it’s the 60 and we dont own the thing, but come on.

I wasn’t there, so I apologize. With that said, sometimes the 60 just isn’t worth it. I like stopping there for bait, but even just doing that I have on many occasions seen too many boats trying to fish the same area. Makes me wonder why the 60 is so much more popular over other artificial reefs like Capers for example.

Most dive boats dive on numbers. Can’t believe they were plotting a course to interrupt you guys. Of course, you could share the numbers they were on for me next time! hehe.

Go south of the 60 to the black banks next time. I always seem to better over live bottom although I’ve slayed the big bsb’s there before too.
