LAST Grouper day! S4G on a FREEMAN 12-31-13 pics

Bing, bing…
Text from Bully, - “Want to go fishing on Tuesday?”
I check the weather “No, lets go Wednesday”
Bully, - “I got family stuff, lets go Tuesday!”
Me- “Uh, 25 knots out of the NW… you crazy man!”
Bully - “We are taking the 29 come on!”
Me- “…Fine I want to see this, I will be there”

Left Manning with the cousin inlaw Alex with these conditions at the bouy.

Alex mumbles, this is kind of dumb…
Dude, we are going in a Freeman you won’t be disappointed.

Rolled up to the dock to meet Bully and Swilley load the boat. First trip on the 29 for me, she is less roomy than the 33 but just as solid.

Quick ride through the jetties and before you know it the bridge is disappearing on the horizon.

The sea was angry my friends but we were comfortable and I actually enjoyed a nap on the way out in the 5x5 slop!

Had the ocean to ourselves with the exception of a cargo ship and a Carnival Cruise liner.

First drop was sea bass, triggers, and reef donkeys. The AJs were thick so we moved on to another spot.

Alex starts with the “getting bit boys! Feeling like a good one!”

He pushed the drag up on the talica and the ole Terez bows to the water!

Big AJ?

NOPE!

It was on now!

Next thing you know Bully is grunting that he has a good one!

Another big gag clears the gunnel!

Then Swilley catches one!

Solid last day gags and a very nice boat. Well done guys! Going to miss fresh grouper for a few months but hopefully they get a good spawn in so we can keep doing it how we do. Trying to figure out how to make the transducer play “Let’s get it on” by Marvin Gaye and park over some of my grouper spots…

Wow! Five by five. In the winter. You win!
Great haul!

Tight lines,

Strong. One day I will ride on one, and based on everybody I have talked to, I will be even more determined to get one after that day though.

Great catching guys.

Beautiful gags :sunglasses:

Nice catching, but why can’t I see anyone’s elbows in those pictures?

Nice looking Grouper guys. Way to tough it out and bring home the fish.

Very nice! I had planned to go out every day last week on my new 40’ Freeman but apparently Santa’s sleigh is not big enough to deliver it! Maybe next year:)
