Great day on water today. Couldn’t ask for better weather temp & sun wise. Didn’t start to hott, lost 120qt cooler on interstate. Flew out of boat…Didn’t know til it was too late. Wet ride in and out…Ride out was sloppy, water over bow constantly, chugged 15-18 mph most of the way out to 95’ in Black Banks…Started day with instilling +1" rule to keep fom having so many fish to clean and having better quality fish…Caught a nice variety of fish…Found the fish on the 1st set of #'s…Caught a couple nice grunts. Also caught small 15" grouper and nice 6-8lb (guess) ARS. Hated to have to send it swimming. Grouper & ARS caught on small chunk of Cigs…tried a couple more to no avail…all new #‘s…Left at 1pm and hit a spot in 75’ to add some more BSB to the mix, put about 10 more in the box, called it a day @ 2pm…Ride in started out great, cruising 27-28mph until about 12 miles out when seas started stacking up again…cruised in at a good speed but got soaked once again. Charleston Harbor was a mess…Was rough all the way to Remleys. Great time with great friends…Entertained uncle and 4 of his buddies. Here are pics of the trip.
I’d like to thank those of you CF.commers who make my trips more and more successful each trip and to Monster Energy drinks that have kept my bug-eyed all day on only 2 hours of sleep.
Good job FB!
Glad you had a safe, productive trip!

First anchor we set, sat on it for 45 min to an hour…Had Ruby lip on bottom, tail-less, and a ruby lip free-lined…NADA…we drift fished for a while after that, then anchored again but just couldn’t get back on the fish thick like we were originally…reason we moved at first to start with was b/c the bite just slacked off…Next time I’ll change focus…I was really wanting to try my jigs this trip too but didn’t. And that’s a scamp? I thought they had very distinguishable tails…His just looked normal. Oh well, if it wasn’t 24" it wasn’t going in boat even though they only gotta be 20"…I’ve never caught grouper before so I’m not up to par on my identifications…

Didn’t get exact measurement of snapper. Snapper was much bigger than 18"…Gave a hell of a fight on a penn 309 and was on a short roller rod and had it bent pretty good. I had the cooler marked for grouper, snapper, porgie and bsb…put him on cooler and he was well over the gag mark. May be 26"…didn’t get exact measurement…he was pretty fat too…He was one of the only fish that we didn’t have to vent to get back down, a bunch of the bsb we had to vent to send back down.
