Last Minute One Man Charter

Been lurking on this site for a few months now since the wife and I scheduled our vacation to make our first visit to Charleston. Been enjoying all the reports and pictures from up here in PA.

Our trip is now just over a week away and as always my wife has given her blessing for me to take a bit of time to go fishing (she’s awesome). I don’t really want to haul my surf gear all the way down, so I thought I might try to find a last minute trip/charter somewhere when we are there.

So my question for the locals is…
Is there anywhere or anyone who I might contact for something like this. I know in Hatteras they have makeup charters you can sign up fo r as late as the day before, didn’t know if any place did that either. I can’t afford to get a whole boat just for me and I’m not too picky about what I might catch either.

Check the fishing matchup forum and you may get lucky. Not charters but may find someone looking for crew.

Occasionally, a scheduled charter will need to fill one or two spots due to cancelations. Email a few captains in the area and explain your situation. Maybe they’ll put you on a “standby” list if they need to fill a spot.

Thanks for the suggestions. Was going to send a few emails, so looks like that might be the best option. I’ll throw a post on the match up board too.
