shrimp are small
you’d have the same luck in LR and not have to deal with the traffic…
start at low tide in 1-2ft of water… it also helps to start out with fewer poles if you’re a beginner. I still don’t get why people feel like they have to throw on all 10 poles in the exact same order the entire trip. If shrimp are thick, they can be caught on 3 or 4 poles just as thick as on 10 poles, especially if you aren’t rushing and get it right when you throw and close. Very few people can work fast enough for it to pay off having more than about 5 poles…

I never shrimp in 1-2’. 6’ minimum. You tend to catch larger shrimp if you set up deeper. I prefer to shrimp in 8-12’ and often catch shrimp before sunset. I’ve been back at the ramp by sunset while others have not even thrown the net yet. You have to learn the area you’re in and how the shrimp behave. Every place is different.
