wasn’t that bad of a day. caught a few fish and turned out pretty good for the most part even though we couldn’t find the blue water at 150’

We went out to about 3 or 4 miles shy of the ledge and found out from another captain that the blue water started around 225’ that day…but the farther we seemed to venture out the higher the seas were getting so we tured around at about 50 miles or so and hung out at 135’

we have 60 gallons onboard and probably burn close to that when we get home…the extra gas is basically to make sure we dont run out at the last second.

yeah im still not exactly sure what is the best fuel saving rmp but i ususally keep it at 3500. Seems to do alright and i know i burn way less than alot of the other boats but dont have that second engine…so far haven’t had any trouble with the ox66 yami:smiley:. I take really good care of it.

3500 rpm is perfect for a 150 yamaha outboard. Island Fat Boy. If you go to maycraft. com. or evinrude.com. you can find the performance charts on each years model of engines.

Yamaha F150s love to be run at 6100… All the time…
I run my Yamaha 150 OX66 at around 3700 on my 21’ w/ 60 gallon capacity. It gets real close to 2.5 mpg. I won’t go over 40 miles one way. I won’t go 40 miles EAST either. Maybe about 35.
