Had been noticing that the tides had been running 8-9 inches over prediction, so I planned a trip for last Sunday morning. At the last minute, My fishing buddy’s wife had other plans for him, so I went solo. Temp low 60’s wind from NE and then it started to rain. The flat I was on was soft so I had to pole skiff in what became a 20 knot NE wind. Hung in there and bumped a few rat reds and 1 or 2 nice fish. Raining harder now as I saw two huge fish tailing on the deeper edge of the flat. Found a shallow place up wind to stick boat and made 2 casts. Bingo! Hanging in there pays off.
