2011 was a great year for me to say the least and I got out the other day and ended the year in nice fashion. This warm weather has really allowed for great fishing late into the season this year but I was very shocked to catch a legal slam in the upper Wando this late in the year. I ended up having a great day with a bunch of lower slot reds and one nice 24". The trout were still active but I had to weed through a ton of small fish to catch just a couple of 14-16" fish. The one that I was not expecting was the 15" flounder that picked up shortly after high tide. I have never caught a flounder this late in the year in the Wando. It was always my understanding that the fish go offshore in the winter to breed. I guess this guy forgot the memo. lol. I also included a picture of a striper that came out of the upper Wando. I have caught several over the past couple of months but this is the first time I have proof. All of the fish have had tags and I believe they are coming from the stocking program up the cooper and are being shot through the locks when they are fingerlings.
