Took a buddy from florida fishing. He is used to offshore fishing and never fished inshore around here. We fished some creeks off of the intracoastal and launched the boat on a falling tide. Caught some mullet and started tossing bobbers towards the banks. We caught several rat reds on the falling tide. My buddy managed to catch 3 reds between 18 to 21 inches. It was his first time catching reds and he never used a popping bobber so he was excited to say the least. He out fished me for the entire day but I was happy to see someone catch their first inshore fish in the low country. I got lucky with a mullet on the bottom near a small stream flowing into the creek. My reel starting screaming and I knew I had something of size on the line. The fish started running with the tide so we pulled up the anchor and chased it with the trolling motor. After a nice battle we put a 30 inch red in the net to complete the day. Its always fun taking people out and putting them on fish.

Good stuff right there, al! I know you mean about helping someone catch their first. Better than catching them yourself! Almost.
Now, a public service announcement</font id=“red”>: don’t let Chumking see your buddy’s hat. He ain’t too keen on Salt Life stuff. Well, stickers at least…

Thanks Bart, I try to take as many people out as I can. Lol Chumking will love my F150 then because I have a foot wide salt life sticker on the back along with some pro gun and air force stickers. I guess I’m just one of “those guys”, and I’m ok with that
