Yep that’s it, a ton of small trout.
All artificials, it’s nice to see the smaller fish chomping on larger profile baits like the RaZor Shad pictured.
Although I still had great success with the Slim SwimZ in Blue Glimmer Sparkle.
I don’t leave the dock without MinnowZ in Pearl Blue Glimmer on a TroutEye, and Slim SwimZ in Blue Glimmer Sparkle.
Last week we had 54 degree water, and we were fishing in 6 to 8 feet. Anchoring opposite side of the creek from the dock, then casting at the docks, and reeling across the creek. The fish were biting in the middle of the creek.
Light tackle, 1000 Spinning Reels, 10lb braid, and 4 to 10 rods. It’s hard to pick just one setup but I find myself picking up my Ci4+ with a custom Rainshadow rod most often.
We fished all throughout the harbor, up the Wando, shot through Wappoo Cut then over to the Stono River, and we found fish in both locations.
Get out and catch some fish.

Great report. Thanks for sharing.
Nice report Simon. There are definitely a ton of small trout out there which bodes really well for our future trout fishery.
I was out recently and drifted a stretch of a creek and kept getting short strikes. Then I started catching, and it was trout not much longer than my lure. Maybe 6". I caught 5 or 6 and got out of there! As Bob Sanders always said “son, big trout won’t tolerate those little trout being around, let’s move.”
