Late 7-27 report definitely HOOKED!

Hooked was kind enough to take a friend and I out in his boat saturday. It was a huge sailfish with twin 200s. Headed out crazy earlier and got slammed in the jetties but the boat took it well and conditions were much better as we got out in the open.

Dropped lines in about 120 ft of water and started out. Instantly a cuda decided he wanted a bait. One of the crew had brought his son and that little man was as hardcore as it gets. He reeled that fish and multiple other ones in.
Found a shelf in under 200 that we trolled on all day with constant action.

I was up next and after a little lull one line started hoppin. Jumped on and belted up. my buddy was next in the lineup and less than 60 sec later another one went so we were standin at opposite corners smiling from ear to ear and fightin fish. gaffed both BIG blackfin there.

Shortly thereafter another rod goes. Nice wahoo landed by the dad

Then we have something break us off so we dropped some wire leaders back and get two HUGE kings in quick sucession.

Reset and BANG BANG BANG three go off at once. Mahi Mahi Mahi! HELL YEA!

The little man jumps back up there and catchs a rudderfish which i hadnt seen on the top before but pretty fish.

Two or three more cudas on the day as well but we had a fish box full and decided to turn around. Capt Bobby had some bottom number we were gonna try on the way in.

Get to this spot in about 90 ft of water and startin droppin squid on circles. I actually got the first fish in. It was a hogfish but not red kinda blue lookin. Not knowin the regs i tossed him.

We made one adjustment for the current direction and everyone started hookin up. One guy was usin jigs and AJs kept him BUSY! We landed about 18 porgy couple vermillion. I caught two triggerfish and my buddy landed a bigeye. After crankin a few off the bottom I started to defer every fish that I didnt think would pull him in to little man. He would stand righ

Great day! Your hogfish was a white grunt more than likely, little red guy is a short bigeye, and your banded rudder fish is actually a rainbow runner! Bet the kid was pumped!!

Rainbow runner eats real good!! So does the Toro. Nice catch of fish!
