Had a group trip compliments of Peter Brown and some other seasoned charter guides. Weather wasnt perfect but the fishing was hot!I had two guys from Atlanta(Cliff and Jason) on my boat who had never caught a redfish before. We started out in some of the bays and sounds putting cut mullet and blue crabs on the bottom and picked at a few. As the tide dropped we slipped out of the shallow waters and moved to the water way where we proceeded to mash the reds. Blue crabs came thru as the bait of choice rigged on circle hook jigheads. We had the help of filipper keeping the reds pushed up on the bank. For awhile we were once again catching them every cast! We had a couple doubles and some really fat fish! Biggest being 12#S and NO legal fish. All slobs. Ended the day with 15 boated and a few pulled hooks/break offs. The other boats did well also. Seemed like the whole group had a blast. This has been the best winter we have had in years and the fishing is wide open! If you get a chance, call in sick to work and slip out and get in on some of this hot redfish action!
