Had a buddy take me out Tuesday for an afternoon flood tide excursion in the South Edisto. Havnt been able to get out as much as I would like, so I had to shake off some rust after clobbering the first few in the head. After numerous spookings and a few rejections I did end up with a nice birthday overslot on a white 3 inch gulp shrimp. Love this time of year
Nice report!
happy birthday. great shorts.

It’s hard to beat those high tide boats. They are just fish catching machines! Congrats on the tailer. That flat looks wadable.

Nice job Caleb. I have a tendency to assume that everyone who shows up on the forum as a new member is a novice fisherman. Certainly not the case here. Looks like you are right in front of my house.

Hey 23…I had a 13 1/2’ Waccamaw boat with a 25 HP Mariner tiller that I bought in Georgetown way back in the day. Man, I went everywhere in that boat! I caught Kings at the jetties, and shot ducks in the Quinby, and ran the back creeks to Bull Island like it was a corvette at Road Atlanta. Dang boat took a direct hit from a 50’ pine tree in Hugo. Whenever I see one of the High Tides now, I go back in time in my mind like a time machine. I could sling that little potato chip in at Shem Creek landing, and go clear to Cuba on 6 gallons of gas. I’d pull the plug and surf it through the “deadman” taking waves in my face while the tackle box floated around my feet. There’s something special about slipping up the Cooper River at 4:00 AM, and hearing the bow wake of a nuclear sub making out to sea. Time to wake up and hang on, it’s about to get interesting! I own those precious times in my mind, and now that I’m old they comfort me. Thanks for the reminder.

I have a 15’ high tide. You can’t destroy that boat. I gig it, beach it, and sheepshead fish it all the time. It isn’t pretty, but it’ll dang sure catch fish.

Nice pics Caleb. I think you may have had a pretty good teacher growing up.
