Finally got out Thursday after waiting on my sister to get out of bed but made it out for the falling tide. Catching bait my pops pulled in a 15inch trout, figured it was going to be a good day but hit a few spots in yellowhouse trying for more trout with no luck. Tried everything from trolling to popping corks… nothing. Moved down the Cooper and picked up a few small trout on popping cork with live shrimp. Everyone was ready to head in but stopped at the honey hole and picked up 3 reds 16,27,29. All three were caught on bottom with shrimp.
Went out early the next day to IOP to catch the flood tide and try to find some tailing reds for the first time. Got to the first spot and didnt see anything water was to high I think. But when I get back to the boat pops got a 27 inch red that swallowed the hook. Made it to the next flat and as soon as I start walking see two fish with their tails straight out the water, got a little to excited and spooked them. Walked the entire flat and didnt see another fish. But ended up fishing a few docks with shrimp and picked up a few trout. Was a slow day but great being on the water.
Got a few pics but dont know how to post them…
I have not tried finding fish on flats during flood tide or high tide. That sounds exciting seeing tail in the air as those reds are digging for fiddlers ie… a meal. Nice report.

Figured out how to post these pictures if anyone is interested in looking. But something got the red the old man is holding, I guess its a dolphin.
