Went out into the desert with a few great fishermen, and within the first 30 minutes had 15 fish in the box. There were so many dolphin in the water we could of just put the gaff in it and let them hook themselves. Our first hook up was 7 lines and 7 fish came in the boat with no tangles for the four of us. It did feel like a chinese fire drill though. We tried running out deeper to get a different variety but still just caught more Mauhi. had at least 3 triple hook ups and a few douples. Mainly caught the afternoon straglers by what look like to me a giant floating “Cheeto,”
Great day on the water and fished with a great group of guys, Thanks Dave for doing what you could
Total for the day was 25 for 30 dolphin, minus 1 that decide to jump out the boat.
I will try to put some pics up when I figure out how.

Good action all day. These guys did a great job keeping the boat organized and clean and keeping the spread alive and tangle free. It is always a pleasure to fish with guys that pitch in and work. Great day on the water for us. Sorry for the lack of wahoo guys maybe next time.
23sail - 90 gallons of fuel burned (Daniel Island - about 15 miles ne of rt) hope that helps

You were asking not long ago about average fuel consumption in the matchup section. Shoot me an e-mail with your comparison to your motors. You now have me curious.
I would say that 90gallons is great for that boat. We’ve never burned over 80, but I’ve got a single F225 on mine and I don’t drive like a contender owner…

I have run this boat for almost a year now and I am not quite sold on the Verado’s yet but I am getting there. I personally think the yamaha is more efficient and is definately cheaper in the annual mtnce department. I am sold on the fly by controls though.

Whaler 270 Outrage w twin 225 Verado’s
Silence is GOLDEN but duct tape is SILVER.
Those are great numbers for a 27’ boat with twins. What rpm and MPH do you run.
I have a single 225 and burn about 80 gallons, running 4500-4700 rpm’s and cruise at 30mph, on the average 1’-3’ day (usualy 170-190 miles round trip).
Last Sat. in rough conditins I ran 195 miles and burned 95 gallons.
roughly 180 miles. low 20’s mph out - mid 20’s mph back. rarely bumped 3900 rpm. Although the boat is extremely dry, she’s a little bumpy and I’m too old to get beaten up by a boat.

That’s great on the gas. I’m burning 85-90 gal on these old 1995 115 Johnsons. Tank holds 122. That is leaving the dock at 5am and returning at 7pm.
