Me and my dad caught the last couple hours of the outgoing tide. Two casts with the net in the river had 4 dozen menhaden. Then stopped by our bait creek and got some shrimp and finger mullet. Anchored up current from a favorite dock and put the lines in. 15 minutes later LEO rides by and circles back to check our licenses. As he pulls up to the boat dad’s rod doubles over. LEO and I do the license exchange thing while dad reels in a nice 27 inch red. LEO wishes us a nice day and a congrats on the catch/release and goes on about his way. Dad and I proceed to catch our two man limit (all fish between 19 and 21 inches)within an hour with a couple more 25 and 27 inchers thrown in and thrown back and are headed to the landing by 10:30. All fish were caught on cut menhaden on the bottom. Didn’t even put a shrimp or mullet on the hook. Great morning spent with the old man and good to be back home and cleaned up before it even got real hot.

“My dad and I” NOT “me and my dad” kids these days
Funny thing is FID…I’m 40 years old and my mother was an English teacher at Wando all the years I was growing up. You’d think I’d know better by now. I guess my excitement of still being able to catch some fish with my dad won out over using correct grammar. Thanks though.

Goes grammar patrol have a blue light too … if so Mombakc you’re in trouble haha, glad to see a nice trip up the Wando, hope to make it over that way this week sometime
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.
