Late Report 8/14 Bottom Fishing

After not being able to go out night fishing Friday , I woke up my Pops and friend that came down from NC, ended up leaving Wapoo at about 5am, with all the other boats that were fishing the Miracle Tournament, Finally arrived at the spot and start with the SB, then the Vermilions, and for the first time ever a Dolphin bottom fishing decided to troll back in and at about 85’ of water hooked up with a sail, had’em on the line for 15min. before stupid me tighten the drag, never got to see him next to the boat, but what a show.

I did have to gaff him, I know he’s a slingger, but if you look at one of the pictures,my hand is covering it, but I snaged him by it’s side, I didn’t want to run the risk of him pulling off.

I was using 4oz. and my 550 Penn spinner for some nice action.
