Late Report April 25/26

Saturday,

Not quite the ride out that we wanted but we found a nice backflow in 500-700 foot of water, wound up blisting the Mahi, not much else that day, but we did leave the fish biting. Decided to stop at a new spot on the way back in and caught one of the biggest Pink porgys I have ever seen. Loaded the boat a variety of bottom species, including all the usual suspects.

Sunday,

WHAT A DAY, Lines in the water by 8:00am and by 8:10 we lost our first Wahoo. It went soaring out of the water with one of my favorite Islanders, unfortunately it was on mono and not wire, because that dirty fish took one of my favorite lures after a few moments of being hooked. Within the hour we were back on the fish, loading the cooler full of Mahi, good size to them too. We had all 7 lines get hit, 5 hookups and Brought 3 in the boat, one 45Lb and two 25lbs, lost a big bull 20 feet from the boat, it was a good 50lbs. It got hit by a nice blue that tail slap the line and broke the line above the leader, man what a nice fish. Within minutes of throwing lines back in the water the action was on again. The waves were stacked so nice I knew we were going to get another chance a bill before the day was over, then at 11:00 am we had our chance. The shotgun had a green reflective bird with a beautiful daisy chain off it and BAM! it gets hit by a White, Whit starts feeding line back hoping to get a second chance, all the sudden we see a big boy right behind the stbd short flat and Doug is tending the line, one hit, two hit, free spool and set, FISH ON, FISH ON, and all lines were cleared so Doug could start his last fight of the day. Breaking through the water a large White marlin was dance on top of the crystal clear blue, but wait that’s not our fish then we see our girl breaking 20 yards to the east of the white, Man oh man it was an easy 300lb blue Marlin give us spectacular arial views as it came soaring out of the water a good 6-7 times. The biggest fish of the day was landed 2 hours after it was hooked and was
