Went down south to Bimini last weekend with some customers and had an awesome trip. Kept 55 Yellowtails, a few grouper, and others first day out. 2 dolphin, more yellowtails, and had a 300-350# blue in the spread on the second day. 3rd day was the story day… first 5 minutes hooked up to a monster blue. Thinking 800-1000#, but don’t know for sure. Fought it on a 30W standup for 7.5 hrs before he finally broke the line. We were 6 miles off of Bimini and in 2500’. He hit a blue and white mylar islander. Got a few good pics and a video.

Finally got the new rig out this past weekend and had a great day. Started out in a slick ocean Saturday in 180’ of water and worked towards 800’ and came back shallow to 350’ and 79 degrees. Went 1/3 on sails and came back inshore and found some 81 degree water and patches. Picked up 6 dolphin; 1 gaffer and 5 slingers. Mostly on spinning gear, which the ladies enjoyed. Ran back in @ 33 knots and only burned 115 gals. The sails were after Capt Ed’s pink SeaWitches and the dolphin hit a pink and white sailure. Also had a mystery knockdown which left me without a sailure, so me thinks a toothed Wahoo. Great day!
