late report, groupers

got a call from yellow fever (31 contender) to go and shoot some fish sun. loaded up with john, his son and auggie dog and headed out. did two divws in 100’ and the viz was only about 10’ and the current was rippen, close to the new moon tides i think. we shot a few grouper and i lost a 6/8lb lobster i had in my hands. not many big fish on thease ledges for some reason, water temp was 74 on the bottom, 84 at the surface. viz was 80’ untill we hit that thermo in 60’. decided to go shallow and the viz was worse and the current stronger but the fish were there. saw many ars up to 25lbs just looking at us and lots of washtub size triggers. we ended up with 7 groupers, a nice cobia which wrapped me up bad with a spear through his head and a few other bottom fish. a little sporty on the way in as the wind was still out of the north late in the day. nise bags of meat today and ready to go again!

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

thats a good fish. did you shoot all of them in 100’?

its the fastest that get paid, and the fastest that get laid.

the biggest fish came out of 100’, that spot normaly holds lots of fish, and lobster, but they were slim for some reason. there were lots more fish on our 70’ dive even though the viz was less! I think the cold bottom temp is dictating were the fish are now.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

been pretty strong in the 65’. thx for the report
