late report...homemade lure

Fished edisto banks Saturday before last. Brought brother, mom, and uncle. Fishing was relatively slow with 4 dolphin in the box by noonish…mixed sizes. I have started making my own lures made from scratch with resin and horse hair. I use dye to tint the hair before making the lure. Anyway, with the bite slow, I decided to put out one of my own rigs that I made to see if it would even swim right with a ballyhoo on it. Put it on my homemade outrigger that I had made the day before. Not 10 minutes later Outrigger goes off and dolphin on my homemade lure, off my homemade outrigger!! 15 minutes later, another dolphin on that same lure. I was amazed. Brought home 7 dolphin that day losing a big phin at the gaff. Fun day with great people. All fish caught between 250 and 300ft. 80 degree temp

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

No halyards on them??? Does that mean you have to pull them out of the holder to put a bait out???

nope…I have the outrigger line going through 2 rings. One on the top of the bamboo and one on the bottom. Put a release clip on the line and good to go.
