sorry for the really late report. went soth of the south west banks last saturday. very slow day 0 for 2 on the sailfish, few mystery fish and a bonita. slow but beautiful day on the water.
What are mystery fish?

some say they are over 17 feet and weigh up to 2000 lbs. ive only seen one in my days.
I saw one once but couldn’t make out what it was. It could have been 7 feet but I think it was closer to 18’. We had it hooked on a circle hook but then the hook turned to a Straight hook. The Mystery Fish really Lit up nice when it was close to the boat but I couldn’t make out the colors.
I hope I never see one again because it was too scary for me and my 6 year old daughter to witness at such a young age. My son turned his head but still couldn’t stop from up-chucking. The rest of my crew took pictures but they never got them developed.
I believe their migrating south right now but some say they spend the winters in Iceland. DNR needs to investigate them further.
I heard that they have been known to swallow jon boats whole!!![:0]
