For reference The Gags averaged 20lbs!

Scott with a nice Hog on the way in from a Dolphin trip.We have been three time and averaged 8per trip not great but great to be out there.
Last trip we had 5 nice Yellowfish, a Sail, A 45lb Wahoo and a Blue spit the hook!

To windy to go back offshore Fri so me and Butch decided to try for some Cobia, 48lbs on the Boga!

Miss my regular dive partner who is traveling a lot this year but the regular crew are always ready to jump in an carry the old man!
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
Nice Ed, you look like a bad ass holding that cobia with one hand like it’s no big deal.

BUG MAN, Your holding that cobia like a “gifted” man with a wide stance and you can just “whip” one those bad boys out whenever you want. Respect!!, I would love to help. Me thinks that cobia is probably hanging from the ceiling. If not, I wouldn’t want to arm wrestle Capt. Ed

Didn’t plan that, but it is hanging from my Deer Gambrle behind my shop at the game table. Back in the day,at USN Dive school, I could do 50 pull ups every morning but not so much anymore. Now i can only do 16oz curls! Looks good though!
Check out the placement on the shots! Well trained divers, all face shots per Skinneej! No waste, no lost fish!
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
I wanna cuss you. …Ha ha…just for getting out there…LOL…Not for spearing fish. …Dammmitt…

Nice catching... Not sure how my name is associated with face shots. I like to go in one eye and out the other. I guess technically that is the face, but I like my stringer hole pre-drilled before I put them on it.
Those Hog Fish are really beautiful, and from what I have read here they are one of the finest table fare.A slab of that and one of those Lobster tails would look nice on a grill.
I got those same crocs but danged if I catch that many fish in em -
good job BC
Jason, you would have to go back into the Archives, I remember a blog on this site a good many years ago were you said the only place to shoot them is in the face!We all do that as there is nothing worse then a diver coming up on one of your best #s and talking about the biggest Grouper he has ever seen get away because it was gut shot. 100% through the head shots are harvested.
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

I don't think that your recollection is a valid one. I suspect a nitrox bubble is affecting your memory! I think you might be thinking about me reprimanding someone for
talking about his gut shots
on the internet... There is an old saying that says, "loose lips sink ships". I know that people might not understand where I am coming from, but if someone posted on here that they killed a nice buck, after gut shooting 3 other deer because they were a poor shot, the internet would shut down for a day. All it does is give people the impression that divers are rednecks who sling spears at anything that moves and wound 4 fish for every one that they kill. That's not the type of reputation we want (especially since it's not true). So, my concern was that if you do gutshot a fish and lose it, you should probably not post it on the internet that the SAFMC is reading... I know it's a foreign concept to many, but it is OK NOT to talk about things that can be held against you later... Like if you actually shart yourself in a restaurant, it's perfectly okay to just exit quietly and clean it out. You don't actually have to stand up and tell everyone... It happens to all of us (yes, I'm still talking about sharting in one's pants)...
So, if you took that directive as saying that I only shoot fish in the face, then you missed the point by abou
PS, this is the part where you go off on a tangent about not wanting to post anymore and me being a “jealous hater” even though you called me out by name for some reason, and I responded (actually with a compliment "Nice catching)…
Enjoyed the report. I got my eye on those gags the next time I am able to get out there.
