LATE S4G Venice LA Oct- 2015 report! PICS

Sorry for the super late report but I have been slammed with work, wife, and kids since we got back.

Been going to Venice for a couple years now and had great success so when asked from some of our locals best about when to go with out hesitation I said OCTOBER!! Well it didn’t take long to iron out the details and pull together an A-Team of locals. With names like Medlock, Merrit, Floyd, Riggs, and Wilcox I knew we would have a blast and put some fish on the dock!

We left out Saturday morning after a few trailer modifications and were on the road pulling the “Simple Interest” a tricked out Freeman 37VH. Riggs spent some time on her getting the rocket launcher installed and the Marsh Tacky outriggers setup for some hardcore trolling. Yes, we were headed to Venice to fish SC style! Venice is the land of live bait and it works like a champ but we wanted to try something different, try it our way!

Arrived early Sunday morning and after a power nap and some unpacking it was off to Wilcox’s top secret Bull Redfish hole! He did not disappoint as the big bull reds came over the gunnel one after the other all to be released to fight another day.

Caught 20 in 2 hours! Riggs and JW had me beat in numbers but I was catching the bigger c

I should’ve done some stretching before I read that! Ha!

Awesome stuff, right there!

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

Great Fishing!!! Thanks for the pics.

Well said. Am I the only one whose mouth was open (unintentionally) after reading this report?..[:0]

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

I’m dying to go down there

Great pictures what a fantastic trip! Thanks for shareing, hope to make it down before next summer! How wide is the freeman! Did it pull well?

Great report as always.

Just read the specs. on the 37 and saw its berth as 11’6", did you have any trouble pulling that down the road at night? What about any weight stations? What kind of tow vehicle?

Chevy 2500. Zero issues pulling it. Same rules apply to it as any other boat 8’6" to 12’ wide. The boat looks big on the trailer but is not super heavy.

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

Trip was a blast! Strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to go!

Thanks for the post!!! We go down each year and have chartered in the past, however, we are going to pull my Onslow next trip in April. Did you have any inside info on which rigs were holding tuna or did you just pick one and start trolling? Thanks again!

WOW - awesome report and pics. That place looks amazing! Thanks for sharing.
