Late Saturday 4/26 Report

Set out Saturday afternoon for some cruising action with a little
fishing with the wife and mother in law from nola. The wind was much colder than expected, so we hit the ICW and tucked ourselves out of the wind in a common spot south of IOP.

Anchored up like a tourist in the middle of channel as most of the dock spots were occupied, but that was kinda the plan anyway.

Set out fresh cut mullet on the bottom and ate lunch and drank a few cold snacks. Nobody was catching anything and odds weren’t good…

The fish gods obliged the middle channel/non agressive fishing tactic and a rod doubles over and my mother in law takes it. Don’t think she was quite prepared, as she was squealing the whole time bringing it in. Great fight for a 31 incher on incoming flood tide!

Didn’t see anyone else catch a fish all day. Sometimes all you need is a little luck.

Nice story. Sometimes it pays to just “kick back” and see what happens!

Good Times. Better to be lucky than good.
