Heres the deal, I’m a newbie to this site, but not new to fishing by any means. I’m an avid member of SOL. (Another Forum) which you mostly SHOULD know. Most of the lures I use for my river striper fishing are turned by me, increasingly, the rods I use are handcrafted by me. Here, on the the three rivers, Saluda, Congaree, and Broad…we wade, we don’t boat. And in the tradition of the Northeastern Jetty fishermen we so look up to, “boat fish don’t count.” Of couse that doesn’t apply to inshore fishing, or coastal fishing in general…to a point. But its a mantra I like, and I Am willing to ditch it at the drop of a hat If one of you wants to entertain me on a boat if I shell out w/ gas money…Which brings me to my point. I have all necessary waders to accomodate a party of three at least, and solid Penn/Shimano rigs too. I can wade you towards smallmouth, huge striped bass, and if lucky the occasional largemouth… in Columbia SC. Consider it an unpaid guided trip, we can set up stationary stuff for the apex predator of the midlands too, the flathead catfish, while we go hunt stripers, etc#128525; The scenery alone is worth it, Island after island of jungle-esque beauty. Then after y’all get some midlands fun, get me down to the lowcountry and lets get a slam, or get lifted trying. #catchandrelease #alldnrlawsapply
No keeping of striped bass anywhere near Columbia until November, When they are basically hunkered down or gone anyway,'so CnR is key if your interested. But October is blazing!
