Decided last minute to fish after the storm on Wednesday. Got the first rod down at about 8:00 PM. Before I could get it in the rod holder it went down and I caught one. It went down again before I could get a second rod down and caught another. By 9:30 I had eight in the boat and missed a few. No giants but all around 20" to 26". Continued fishing until about 1:00 am and only landed one more and lost something real nice. After catching all the little ones I had the drag to tight and he broke me off. Most fish were caught 30 to 40 feet deep. Tried a freeling for about an hour without a hit. The wind made trolling tough.
sounds like a good night of fishing…I would be exciting just to see that many rods go down…
It seems they don’t bite late at night on Lake Murray…everyone says that after 9:00 or so…it’s all over…
make room in your boat for me…
Carl,
If you want to come along, I will try to get out next Friday (20th). Unless it storms, then Saturday evening. I would like to try to get out earlier than I usually do. Seems like the best bite is when I get there at 7:30 or 8:00. May try to be on the water at 6:00 friday evening. I am not much of a morning person and I seem to do better at night anyway.
thanks for the invite…that was awful nice…you might regret having a “rookie”…
The 20th and 21st is the Fireman’s Convention in Myrtle Beach…and I got to attend that…
so–give me a “rain check”…
Steely, next Friday night is the MSC/Hydroglo tourny, lines in 1830. Richard from Lake World will be selling bait, in the water, at Jake’s. This may save you a few minutes in getting out.
