LCA Tournament

Decided to fish the tourny with my buddy smitty 123. We were just gonna fish from land but Follybeachpeanutguy offered to take us, thanks Jeffery! At the captains meeting everybody from camp good times was there and a bunch of fisherman, and women. Great food and great people. At the meeting I didn’t win anything but it was worth it seeing smitty win the last prize, a Jim booth painting.
Saturday:
Got a later start than intended because the Fiddler trap and MM trap didn’t work. So we had to send mom off on a crosbys run for 4 dozen MM. And me and smitty went to HAND CATCH our fiddlers, caught about a pint. So we put in at the cut 10ish. As we ran out we saw some bait threw the net at em landed on top but would not stay in the net? Maybe glass minnows? Anyways we ran up a creek in the harbor to catch bait some live shrimp and FM. Went to our first spot in the Cooper. Trash fish and a small trout. Drifted downtown side of drum island once and nothing. Parked the boat on an shell bank and swam on the high slack tide. Water clarity was unbelievable 3’-4’! Went up the wando to our trout spot over there. Got there a little late in the tide stage and fished live MM under popping corks and Carolina rigs. I set my cork rod down to check my bottom rig rod after rebaiting I pick my fork rod up again and there was a 14" trout on it. Threw him back because he’s to small for a tourny. Went farther up the wando and fished 2 more rocks and a creek mouth with only a couple undersized trout to show for it. Finally found the magic dock. We anchor up and cast our rods out under the dock walkway. Smitty does great and hooks the first fish a 21" flounder!! His biggest in SC! He proceeded to catch another 18". Then I caught my first one ever a nice 18" flattie. One more 16" by smitty and a 17" by me. All fish caught between 2 sets of pilings, must have been a hole or something, one hook lost. Rods were too crowded at the rod holders in the back on the boat under those pilings and I decided to tie on a mosquito hook and a Fiddler tor

Thanks capt I appreciate it. I got started at camp last year after being constantly bugged by my cousin. Her brother and my cousin Reid is autistic and very low functioning. But I decided ill do camp so she’ll leave me alone. I loved it now I’m going gonna go back every year! And mikeyloo I haven’t either. Thanks bonzo, you gonna at the wappoo Wednesday?

I’m a high class redneck.

Fishing is a delusion entirely surrounded by liars in pfgs and buffs.

Congrats Yakman! Looks like a great day.
