Ok this should be reported in the surf/pier section but this will get more reads here, and people need to hear this.
So we went out to Sullys for a evening of beach fishing. Went to the groins and fished the jetties. We were there for a little while and were getting small hits, probably from small sharks. We catch a little flounder and a few minutes later 3 people come fish RIGHT next to us blocking us from fishing the jetties. Pretty annoying right? We catch toad fish, a small blue and 2 other flounders. Then one of the people casts there line 2 feet from the bank and I’m sitting there thinking…“Your’e not gonna catch anything there…” Then I realize they casted over my line. I reel in real slow making sure my rod tip is pointed towards the ground, thinking I can get this back without a tangle…too late. Ok at this point I’m getting really annoyed at them. I should have shouted “Hold on for a minute!!”, but I thought they had seen me walk into the water to get the tangle unwrapped. It was only looped just once, so I almost got it unwrapped when I look over and see them holding the rod walking back like they are getting a hang up snapped. They were doing that wrong anyway because the weren’t looking to where it may be hung up. Wow. Their hook was over my line and got stabbed a little into my hand because I was holding THEIR tangled line trying to get THEIR tangle undone. This all happened really fast but luckily I got the hook out before it barbed me. If I had been barbed I would have been SUPER angry. This pissed me off so much that I was about to yell at them to watch where they are casting. After that we moved and they left shortly after and we had our spot back. The tide had come in and it was dark so we left also.
If you look in the top right hand corner you can see rod…
