LED TUBE LIGHTS OR LED FOCUSED BULBS?

I am currently working on setting up my boat with LED Lights for Flounder Gigging and want advice for which LED lights y’all would suggest! The tube or flat Led multiple light fictures or the One light "spot light"versions… Any advice on lights to use would be awesome. The lights will be run off a deep cycle battery…

Also I am building my self a new walking LED light stick. I have built the PVC and everything. Just have to figure out which light would be best. Thanks so much for any and all advice yal can give me.

I use the LED floodlights(home depot or lowes)and have to say that they really light up the bottom well.Kinda pricy but will last forever. All i need to run them is a small lawnmower battery or off the boat battery using a 100 watt inverter. They only draw 14 watts each(I have 2 for my boat)and never pulled a battery down yet.VERY bright and so so quiet. They also serve well as a spotlight on the water,I was surprised at how well they light up the waterway at night when coming in or going out.

Can u give me the name of the bulb so I can find it? Thanks for commenting! Very much appreciated. How wide in the widest part of the bulb 2 inch or 4inches? also do you put them underwater or shine them down at the water

and the inverter what do I need to get? I thought I could just plug them straight to the light…? could you explain more

I’ll try,I bought 2 cooper worklight fixtures(they have a metal tube base they sit on and a short 1 ft plug)and use the standard size floodlight(4 in.I guess)Lowes or home depot has them in different brightness, the brighter the more expensive.I believe mine have nine led bulbs in each light.the cooper fixtures I can slide under the rail on the side of my boat(that being the tube base it sits on)and it basically locks into place. The housing itself is adjustable so you can tilt them to get the right angle. After that I use a standard 3 plug extension cord that i plug into a 100 watt inverter from Wal Mart.I put alligator clips on the inverter and connect to the battery.I always take the precaution of wrapping the plugs so they won’t accidently get wet.I understand it may be hard to see in your mind how I have this set up but it is really very simple, quick and easy to do.If you have no rail it would be simple to make a detachable one the base of the worklight fixture will slide into and once in place they dont move.I will see if I can get you more info on the light fixture, once you see one you will understand.

Google" Cooper portable 100 watt worklight " and you will see what I’m talking about. Most Tru Value hardware stores have them. These have a Black base on them, not yellow.Hope this helps you out,you will like the setup.

Thanks. Im looking for for a 2inch LED Light. MR16 is the “Type” to have a idea what it is.

100W bulb two of them. could a deep cycle battery handle them all night flounder gigging?

I’ve been running the standard MR16 lamps 4 of them for 4 to 5 hrs on one group 29 deep cycle with no problems.

The 100 watt cooper worklight uses a regular 100 watt bulb,I just use a LED floodlight in them instead of the 100 watt bulb, they’re the same size,as I said, the LED bulb only uses 14 watts providing close to or more brightness. As a result a small lawnmower battery will run them for hours using the inverter.I’ve also noticed the LED floodlight seems to “freeze” ocean critters in place,we would shine them on ghost crabs on the beach and they wouldn’t move even if you nudged them, mud minnows would do the same thing.I only got to use this set-up twice this past summer and this was in Little River where there’s a ton of gigging pressure.Even so,the flounder we did see didn’t spook easily using LED’s.I figured it was due to the bright white light put out by the floodlights,it really lights up the area around the boat and I didn’t notice any glare, even when the water had a little chop on it.

any clue on the names of the MR16 lights YOu use DD

They are Phillips 12 volt 50 watt 700 or 800 lumens. I got them at Lowes and I think I’m actually running two different brands the others are Sylvania same 12 volt 50 watt 700 or 800 lumen.

I found the sockets at a electrical supply house downtown sorry can’t remember the name.
