LEDGE HOG 83lb wahoo

Fished just below the sw banks on 5-21. caught a bunch of dolphin, ( only keep 15, no need in killing 60 to stroke my ego), and caught a 83 lb wahoo. the wahoo was caught on a LEHI Squitch “Green Lantern”. The funny thing is, we missed a wahoo, it bite thru the mono, I rerigged with the green lantern, put it out and hooked this fish right away. When I cleaned the fish, it had my white ilander with the ballyhoo still intack in it’s belly.

cheers

Great fish, Carl! Wish I’d known you were fishing the same day as us. I’d say an 83 lb. wahoo gives you all the ego strokin’ ya’ need! Congrats!! Thanks for returning 40 plus dolphin for future enjoyment.

Capt. Mel

Hey Mel,
I didn’t know you were going monday either, we should talk more often. good job on your day also.
by the way, for the record, we did not catch 60 dolphin. We caught alot,?, but only kept 15. I was just making a point, there is no need to keep more than you need. I think some book says that greed and glutiny are not good characteristics.

cheers

6’glassy,
thanks, Panama is good, we are getting closer to completion.fishing was poor this trip, the red tide came down from costa rica and went for hundreds of miles. the seavee is down there now, so we can fish our own boat.
[:0] the waves were scary big, 12’ faces

Yea, yea, but our fish was not on a 31 foot boat with an old penn 113h reel not a big time sporty with an 80 wide.:smiley::smiley::smiley:

BTW Ledge Hog that is a NICE fish. Congrats!!
Sorry Nature Boy and I feel it necessary to highjack your thread so that we may have a little pissing contest.

I have all the respect in the world for your catch of that 83 lb wahoo. It allways takes skill , effort & sometimes a little luck to boat a fish that big. There are so many things that can go wrong! ( and I’ve seen alot of the wrong things happen)

GOOD FISHING !!! WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!
