Have just started to going out of BP and have always gone towards the harbor thinking better salinity in the water for Reds. Curious if might be as good, maybe better, going west?
We almost always go upriver unless we plan to go down to Yellowhouse or to the harbor. We have caught reds, trout, and flounder in the first 3 creeks going upriver. Even the creek near the fuel dock produces some nice reds and flounder. This has been a pretty dry year for us up there, but it is usually good fishing fairly near the landing. I think the Fall is going to be really good. BTW - You can catch saltwater fish all the way up to the power lines…even saw a school of Tarpon up there once.

Not intending to be a smart azz, but taste it. I do when the curiosity or concern strikes. Tip of your tongue might tell you all you need to know.
Thats the official dividing point, so make sure you have a freshwater licence regardless of what your catching when you go left.

Appreciate the advice. I assumed going north was best after my last trip. There were few inlets to work. Thanks.
