Anybody have any luck with the St Croix Legend Ultra. I have a older Avid 8 wt. that has caught a lot of fish and I like the brand. Any “reviews” would be nice. Thanks

Got an 8wt Legend Ultra as a back up rod right now. Was my only 8wt for awhile, and I like it. Not as light as some of the newer sticks, but loads and casts well. Not nearly as fast as my newer rod, but still a great stick.
I have the Reign in 6 and 7wt and my friend has the Legend Ultra in 8wt and he loves it… St Croix are really good rods and they are starting to make the same quality rods more affordable… if ya got ducks to burn and need a good travel rod, I am fishn a March Brown 8wt that is a 6 peice that throws like a 1 peice rod… VERY compact and beautiful to throw… I used it and my Reign 6&7 in Iraq and all 3 made it through Combat Fishin with A+++ marks for durability

you may want to spend a little bit more and get the legend elite. it got a great review from these guys. i’ve cast several of the rods on the list and found it to be quite accurate. haven’t cast the legend elite though. on the lighter weights i found very little difference b/w the avid and the legend ultra. that’s why my 7wt is an avid. i love st. croix rods. hope the website helps.
Take me fishing
i just went up to colorado for vacation and was usin my uncles 4 wt legend ultra. its casts great
Thanks to all. I scored a deal and got a Loomis Cross Current.
