Mountain Dew or Crab Juice. Eeww…sheesh…I’ll take a crab juice.

Is that a pet or in the wild? Ive never seen a blue and red one before. Cool pic.

it was a wild millipede collected in NY. picture was taken in the lab. likely Narceus annularis

I just found three of these Saturday while cleaning up my woodpile. They are beautiful. The colors are amazing on them.

If you’re not effecting the world around you in a positive manner…you’re taking up too much space.

when you piss them off, they will secrete a yellow chemical as defense from their sides. it will turn your hands purple/black until the skin wears off. i handled a bunch of them this day. i was also wearing two pairs of nitrile gloves. the big ones can spray the chemical 20 cm or so. it tastes like burning!

…so just out of curiosity…were you holding a big one 20cm from your mouth or did your buddy dare you to taste it?

i was actually climbing a tree to get one and needed two hands to climb back down, so in the mouth it went. i got it in my eye once from 20 cm away. also burned!

Ever tried to pick up a Blister Beetle? Yeah, well…don’t. Their name does not do them justice. They should be called “burn the living snot out of you if you pick it up beetle.”
