Just wondering what length I should make my leader when fishing under a popping cork. I usually fish carolina rigs and am going to try fishing with a float. Curious as to what people have had luck with. Thanks

Depending on the tide your fishing and where the fish are. When I fish with the cork I keep a couple hook sets on board at different lenghts running say 12-24".
Mine are 24 inches.I fished one day and the guy in another boat had about 5 feet on His.He was catching trout faster then me so I went to 5 feet and caught plenty that trip.Next trip out same tide,place and 5 feet and no a hit until I went to 2 feet??? Go figure???

If fishing for trout in 4-10’ of water I keep 2 sets of leaders on boat: 2 feet and 4 ft. I fish both and see where they’re hitting.
