Put in at Crosbys around 10:30-11:00 and paddled past Bowen’s to shipwreck with pirate flag. Fished a DOA w a popper. Nothing bit and I am glad. I spent most of my time paddling to orient my kayak…no anchor…paddle in at 1:30. Too late for fish?
I fished that stretch a couple weeks ago and didn’t have any luck either…how did you like your kayak?
I have a Feelfree Nomad 9’6". Easy to car top and a wheel in the rear makes portage a breeze. There are absolutely no modifications for fishing. I just wanted to give it a try. Getting blown around and buffeted by wake was the biggest drawback. If I had actually caught fish it would have been an adventure.
The area around Crosby’s Bowen’s is tough. I never had a lot of success there.

I’ve had some of my better days over at Bowen’s, but I’ve gotten skunked there almost exclusively as of late.
I seldom caught much on Crosby’s pier back before I had a boat. A few croaker/whiting and that’s about it.
