Somebody show us some ducks.
there are not many left here in s.c i stopped duck hunting in s.c. 12 years ago to many impounds and refuge not enough ducks to fill those and public water
I saw probably 40-60 ducks between Yellowhouse and upper Bushy Sunday… didn’t hear one shot… did see Mr. Green Jeans solo in a small jon boat slipping into some back creeks too…

Duck hunting is not my thing, but I Know many that live and breath it. No doubt a lot of impoundments and private flooded areas, but there are still some fantastic opportunities in public areas. The ACE basin is loaded. Learn when a hunt in an impound will be and hunt the public side of it. Many get flushed out when the shooting starts.
First trip of the year great start this was first morning then the weather changed cloudy and warm no wind ducks just set on open water the rest of the week we just watched them fly out to feed and come back and rest in open water we moved further south and seen nothing but still a great week out in nortern Kansas beautiful country out there will be returning out west in january hopefully a much better trip
Spent Thanksgiving and the following weekend in Mississippi, and again was a few days ahead of the weather. First morning the most wood ducks I’ve ever seen in MS, shot a few Gadwall and Greenheads, couple teal, nothing crazy. Second morning slower, spoonie, wood ducks, Gadwall. Sunday morning was only two of us left at camp and had a great hunt, shot a two man limit and was on the road home by 8:30AM.
Going back after Xmas to get my (**() Drake Pintail I’ve been after for years now. Sorry I didn’t take any pics this trip.

That is a beautiful picture.
Is that your dog ADA WAY?If so,did he adapt to the snowy conditions well?Seems like it would be tough on a dog from around here. I remember when you could get green heads like that in Yellowhouse and the Bushy Park area.
yes she is mine and in those conditions you just watch the dog they will let you know when its to cold and i always take a heater with me she did excellent this trip but last year was different we shot ten green heads by 7:45 and she didnt retrieve any of them it was 14 degree with 25mph wind and she didnt want anything to do with the water and i dont blame her the southern dogs cant take the weather like a dog that was raised in that enviroment i will post pic of last years birds as well i will be going back in january hope to do better than this last trip
this pic is from 2017 this is when she didnt want anything to do with the water she was going crazy wanting to go but didnt have the hart to bail in that cold water and i dont blame her
