I am looking for a second hand lever action .22lr with wood stock to shoot stuff around the yard. I am not a gun collector and don’t intend to pay gun collector prices. Haven’t started looking around gun stores or anything yet but was hopeful that someone here has one they want to part with.
I like the Henry Classic but don’t want to spend 350-400 for a new one just to shoot pinecones, soda cans and raccoons trying to get to my chickens if I can avoid it.
The best plinking 22lr I own is the Ruger 10/22. You can iron sight it, scope it, whatever. There’s also a break down version that goes inside a case or back pack very easily.
Spend the money, get a decent gun. If you still wanna go cheap, I’ll look and see what i have. I probably have something for you.
this is as close as you’ll get, I went with the “tactical” model with threaded barrel that only comes with ugly black plastic furniture. it’s so quiet with a can though…
I have a nice little Winchester .22 Lever-action, and it is fun to shoot. I don’t know that you find anything in lever action cheap unless it is ragged out. Hard to beat a basic 10/22 and you can accessorize them to death.
One of our chickens got murdered so now the girlfriend is behind my purchase of a chicken defending weapon. I am now looking for something I can mount a light and scope to for night ops.
build one on the cheap, just wait for the parts to come on sale, , , they always do.
I’ve got a couple PSA blem lowers that I can’t tell what’s wrong with them, so for what you need,. .,…(in my best tony soporano voice)… Forged-ah bouu-dit
Or go this route and add a light kit

Here’s what I might do, spend a little on a suppressor later and shoot subsonic. I can snap my fingers louder than this pea shooter will make rigged that way.
