If you carry one, what kind?

Just picked one up @ noon today:
2 days out of Newark, NJ going East.
16 man unit, no one with it or any items not regularly stowed in one.
Some seams damaged, a few splits in side floors.
USCG Sector - Boston notified.
No growth and minimal odor of the environment.
Sure hope it didn’t go overboard with folks expecting to board it.
I carry a Revere 6 man, bought it on a THT group buy, $1300 shipped. It needs repacking now.
It is one of those things you might never need, but will be very thankful you have it if you ever do.

We have a Viking 6 man raft that thankfully I have never seen. Keep in mind that in addition to the cost of the raft, it will need to be serviced every three years where they inflate, repack, and replace all the items with expiration like flares. Both raft and the service are crazy expensive, like most other things having to do with boats.
I have been thinking about something along those lines, anyone carry an automated defibrillator on board? I am thinking of getting one for our boat. If you think about it, it makes about as much sense as a liferaft, particularly if your crew is older. Although cardiac arrest is less common than sinking, if you sink with a functioning epirb you can probably get rescued before you die unless the water is real cold whereas if someone goes into cardiac arrest there is virtually no chance of surviving long enough for the coast guard to get to you. And its not just old people. We had a Wofford player last season go into cardiac arrest on the sidelines. Thankfully, training staff was right there and shocked him and he was fine but if that happened away from help you would be screwed, and anyone with a Capt License is trained to use one. Just a thought.
