The only suggestion you need is this one, Ott Light!
You can get them at Michaels Craft stores, and sometimes Michaels runs a 50% off coupon. If you cannot get teh coupon they are still the best light on the market for your vise table/bench.
I have a smaller one that folds down and tucks out of the way, and it is never hot to the touch, and tall enough to stand over the vise while tying.

Far better it is to dare mighty things to win glorious triumphs even though checkered with failure, than to take ranks with those poor spirits who never enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

with Nu here!! I dont have one but will someday…

Ended up with the Rechargeable Task Lamp. Wife let me have the 40% coupon and I scored this one(on sale) for under 40 bones.

Thanks gentlemen!

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>Good to hear. I always like to find out what the conclusions of some of these discussions are.

But… I thought I would mention an additional thing that might help. A background card while tying may also help you (and other tiers). You can see one in this picture. You can put anything behind the fly that will block out all the clutter in your line of view and the lighter the color the better reflected light you will get on the fly that you are tying. It’s that white card about 5 inches square opposite the magnifying glass. I use one and find it very helpful because of my low attention span.

I just happened to be looking at an article about fly tying stations. Here is where I saw (stole) the picture.

TyOneOn,

You have more engineering and money in your fly tying setup than I have in my entire boat. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
