"Lights On" first trip

Well, I finally made it out in our new to us Sea Hunt 21 Triton.
The wife and I went with Cramsey and his wife. Saturday was a fun day for all. Rough ride out straight into that wind headed along 155 heading. Lines in at 7:30 at about 110’ and trolled all the way to the ledge. Hit the cuda in 130 ft right off the bat but it was cool with him getting sky. Wife O mine on the stick, (her first big fish ever). While messing with the cuda in the boat, my smallest rig, 320GTI on a 20-50, on the short starts to scream and I mean scream. Wahoo in the box not huge but strong I think around 20 - 25 lbs, yeah baby!
Move on out to about 150 and schoolie on the WTFB, Cramseys wife brings it to the boat. Out to the ledge and 20 lb Bull on the planer (setup for Wahoo, go figure). Head back into the 130 ft water and pick up another schoolie. We are thrilled with first outing 3 dolphin and one Wahoo.
The best catch… my wife is hooked now and ready to go again this week… checkbook is open!

Great job, looks like both of the lady’s were haveing a great time, good on ya.

Local Boy, Just having fun.

thats nice all the way around…

What are your outriggers constructed out of?

Paint poles…
Just kidding, they are cheap ol’ Sea strike fiberglass 1 1/8" telescoping outriggers, “hand me downs” from a fellow fisherman… I am hoping for a new pair of Taco telescoping aluminum poles for fathers day. Keeping my fingers crossed. The hand me downs are getting the job done however.

I hear ya. I made mine out of telescoping boat hooks. Cut the hook off at the end. Works great and under $80

Great post. Not bad for a few green horns if i have to say so myself. Looking foward to another great trip aboard “light on”.

Fishing is the chance to wash one’s soul with pure air.

The wives having a good time offshore is a double edge sword.

Yeah they want to go now too.
Pros are it helps keep the meat in the family and it does allow for us to do something together and it does warm her up to expenditures on fishing improvement tools:wink: as in the check book is open.but…Its my checkbook too, two splits on gas bill is ours. Oh well, we had fun together.

I guess you have to be present at time of fish on to see the smiles:wink:
