I went out by myself just to get some bait at low tide and then decided two of course hit one spot on my way back in after catching mullet for the chest freezer. I had three rods and put a chunk of mullet on each one of them. I did a spread near a creek mouth where each bait was at least 50 yards away from any of the other baits. It’s crazy how all three rods went off at the same time and the baits weren’t even close to one another. I did not expect that at all and totally looked like National Lampoon’s as I about crapped myself and tried to figure out which one was the most important to grab first. Of course the little of my normal luck happened when the middle rod and left Rod ended up heading straight towards one another. One got tangled in the other and then one pot me off on a dock piling. Good news was that the biggest fish was on the right Pole and was 32 inch red. Left them biting.
Details/notes if useful: A cooler day than yesterday since that small front came in. A very small tide change. Only about four and a half feet. Low tide was 10:51 a.m. and I had the Three Rod hook up at 12:45 p.m… definitely plenty of mullet around but not saturated. When I saw a few 7-inch mullet jump next to the boat that’s then I put the right rod only about 20 yards from the boat since I knew something was spooking them (depth of 1.25 ft; did not check water temperature; slight wind from the WNW). Sorry for the long post but thought I’d share in case it helps.
