Limehouse

Looking for tips on fishing the Stono out of Limehouse. Never been. Should I head North or South?

I’d rather trailer to Legare for north Sono/Kiawah or Rockville for South Stono.
It helps when the lightning comes out of nowhere in 15 minutes.

“No… it’s okay, I know the way out…”

Going towards Wadmallaw, there’s plenty of good spots along the docks on the right especially during the early parts of the outgoing tide. Then there’s always the well-known marker 55 area. All along the grass on the incoming tide. Both are redfish spots. Going towards Kiawah, the third large creek on the left side, the creek that leads back to the Croghan’s landing area, has trout at the mouth of the feeder creeks.
Of course, boat traffic will have a negative effect on these areas.

Appreciate it. Gotta stay close to Limehouse. Fishing the LKA trail event September 16th so it needs to be close enough on kayak to launch at 7 and be back by 3. Might be heading out tomorrow to scope it out.

There are more feeder creeks to the north. I see a lot of bait moving up that way, but haven’t landed many fish. Hope you guys have better luck than me up there!

Haven’t had too much luck with reds but have caught a good amount of trout heading down river from Limehouse. Lots of decent small creeks on the left side of the river. Usually fish mud minnow or live shrimp on a Carolina rig near the shore. There is 1 cut that’s 20 ft along the bank that’s been pretty good for me.

the docks across river from landing are deep water and hold trout. Start in middle where live oak and grass meet water. Strikes usually happen at docks end.

Great information. I live near Limehouse, and looking to buy a boat. Right now, fishing off neighbor hood dock.
