I have a limited boat budget.
Would you get an aluminum bass/flat bottom boat or a Gheenoe/ mini rip type boat to fish the rivers and creeks around Charleston?

What’s the top of your budget? Buy the biggest boat you can afford now! They are never big enough, an older fiberglass skiff will do you well, You can add newer bigger motor, seats,TM and new toys later a little at a time when you can afford them. PM me I have a j16 CS for sale right now!
The problem is I need something that fits in my garage and doesn’t make it totally unusable. I’ll probably spend 6k or less. I had a a bass boat for years and I think something like that would be great for the rivers and creeks. I have no off shore or jetty interest.
My jon boat is for sale, check out the swap shop if you’re interested. It handled amazing in the rivers and creeks. Was able to get super shallow on the flats and did great on rough days.
There is no substitute for hard work-Thomas A Edison
definitely jon boat over the gheenoe in my opinion.
more stable, and more versatile as well as a larger choice, and a larger market when you go to resell/

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING
Many sciffs and larger Jon boats and bass boats are stored in garages. A trailer with a breakaway tongue will save you a few feet. As everyone else has said…biggest small boat you can buy.
