Clean it however you want… a little dawn and some warm water.
But make sure to use a fly-line coating afterwards to re-coat the line properly. Should make it slick as sin.

Scientific anglers and Rio both make a “fly line Dressing” that will work…
There is also some stuff called “special delivery” that is a silicon coating that works well.
The soap and water is going to strip off any coatings that are on there so you will just have to replace it. Put a little of the dressing on a sponge and pull your line through the sponge to apply… Or in the case of “Special Delivery” just spray it directly on the line on your spool.
