Looking at using a 36v Lithium Battery for an upcoming trolling motor purchase.
Anybody out there have any experience with these?
Pros and cons?
Life span of a lithium battery?
I am trying to figure out if the lighter weight, performance, etc is worth the extra cost.
They do not like cold…

Lithium batteries have a history of starting fires. I think I would just stick with proven technology.

They do just “go dead instantly”, however they run at steady with out a drop off until dead.
Their controller board turns off the power when they reach a certain state of discharge, not that the cells have completely discharged. They do not have a long shelf life, they will go bad in two to three years at best no matter how they are treated, even on the shelf they will degrade.
Good for small stuff, not for anything big and used occasionally.
