Does anyone know if there is a place to grab some live bait early in the morning near WO Thomas? I live in W. Ashley very close to 526, and I’d like to be able to grab some bait on the way to the ramp instead of having to throw out a cast net in the morning.
Depends on what time you mean by early morning. I believe most places don’t open util around 8. Your best bet would be to just buy bait the day before and keep it in a bucket with an aerator. The closest place to your house with live bait would either be South Side Bait and Tackle down 17 by Rantowles, or Charleston Angler.

Call ahead for South Side. He collects his own bait a lot of the times and doesn’t always have everything in stock. Great owner though. And Dee works there sometimes!

Going the night before might be my best bet. Southside Bait and Tackle looks to be my best bet location-wise. Thanks for the tip.

Its easy to miss if you’ve never been there. He’s in the shopping center just passed Dodge Store and KFC on the right hand side.

Yeah — I would have never know that was there. I drive past that all the time and never knew about it. I’ll be stopping by this week to check it out.

Dee works on Fridays only I believe as of now.
If you see him, it’s his 70th bday this week. I have the pleasure of calling him Uncle…he’s one of my favorite people in the whole world.
