Headed out on a calm sea at 7 am. Picked up a livewell full of hadens and made our way to 100ft. Slow trolled a few reefs, couple of AJ’s. Plenty of spadefish and cudas. At one point saw a boat right behind us stop, circled around and they had the gaff out. Nobody had a rod in their hand, guy free gaffs a nice cobia from under the school of spades I just trolled through! Spent about 30 min bottom fishing, hard to get the drift when the wind is truely light a variable. Ran back to 60 ft of water at 35 mph sitting down(in a 20 ft boat no less). Picked up a slinger bull, must’ve took a wrong turn, haha. Was hoping to at least see a king. Thinking we would’ve done better with ballyhoo. Great day on the water no less.
