I have a leaningpost livewell that is giving me some fits this past weekend. The livewell seemed to work right in the morning, fille dup and stayed filled circulating new water for at least 45 minutes. Then i noticed that it wasnt holding water anymore. The livewell has two nozzles at the bottom one for putting water into the well and the other to suck it out so it circulates(at least I assume that is why). However when I noticed it wasnt holding water it was because both nozzles were sucking water from the tank rather than one pushing and one sucking. Anyone know why this occured and how to fix it?
Check to make sure that your valves are open… I have been there before.
Its hard to say whats wrong without looking at it myself. I would assume that your pump isnt running. If it is not running, then gravity/backflow could drain it out.
If it is running, and a piston style pump, you may have a check valve that isnt working anymore, which would just pump water back and forth instead of into your livewell. Depends on your setup… Im just guessing because I cant see it.
Im also assuming that there is no way someone could have rearranged your wiring.
