Livewell pump not working

Replaced pump in 17’Seahunt with an Attwood pump,it runs but only pumps a small amount when backing up,not at all with boat at idle.Anyone ever had this problem? Any help greatly appreciated,thanks.

It could be wired backwards (polarity reversed) causing the propeller to turn backwards.
